Dr. Harrison completed her undergraduate work at University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois graduating with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She continued her graduate studies at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois and graduated with her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 1998. Her doctoral research was in the area of parent-child interactions and she has devoted most of her clinical work to the treatment of children. Dr. Harrison first worked with adults with developmental disabilities in 1988 and since that time she has provided direct care, behavior consulting, skills training, family therapy, individual and group therapy to individuals with disabilities. She is presently the owner and clinical director of Innovations In Learning, PC. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Innovations is one of the few agencies in Northwest Indiana to provide ABA services to children with Autism. Dr. Harrison was the first President of the Hoosier Association of Behavior Analysis and continues to be an active member in the association. She has also worked as an adjunct faculty at Valparaiso University, and she continues to collaborate with the university on different research projects. In 2010, Dr. Harrison was awarded the Small Business Owner of the Year award by the SBCA.
Maureen Flaherty, RN, JD, MS, LCPC
Maureen Flaherty, RN, JD, MS, LCPC is the Director of Operations for Innovations In Learning. Maureen began her career at Innovations in 2005. Maureen graduated from St. Anne’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1960 and worked as a Registered Nurse until 1971. In 1978 she graduated from Northern Illinois College of Law and is a licensed attorney in the States of Illinois, California & Indiana. Maureen was a founding partner of her law firm and practiced in Illinois until her retirement in 2000. In 1997 she graduated from Benedictine University with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and is licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Professional Counselor. In 2000, she worked at Hinsdale Hospital as the patient therapist in their Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Clinic. When the demands of her “part-time” position at Innovations grew she again retired and moved to Indiana in 2005 to work full time at Innovations where she manages Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, and Corporate legal matters.
Tysha Rivich, LMHC
Tysha Rivich, LMHC is the Director of the ABA Clinic. Tysha began her career with Innovations in Learning in August of 2005 as an intern. She started as a behavioral therapist in May, 2006. Tysha graduated from Purdue University Calumet with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1999 and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2006. During her undergraduate years, Tysha spent time as a preschool teacher, working with children of all ages and several children with disabilities. She also worked as a QMRP for adults with developmental disabilities. Tysha is licensed by the State of Indiana as a Mental Health Counselor and is currently enrolled in classes to obtain her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Jennifer A. Ferrara, LMHC, MT-BC
Jennifer is the Director of the Adult Day Program. She joined the Innovations team in January 2010 as a behavior therapist. In addition to working in the day program, Jennifer also provides individual, family, and group therapy to individuals of all ages diagnosed with a developmental disability. Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne in 1999 and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Purdue University Calumet in 2004. Jennifer’s experience includes working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, adolescents with behavior disorders and mental illness, and adults with mental illness and addictions. Jennifer is licensed by the State of Indiana as a Mental Health Counselor, is board-certified by the National Music Therapy Association, and is currently enrolled in classes to obtain her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Leticia Macias-Oller, M.A.
Leticia Macias-Oller, M.A. is the Director of Behavioral Services. She has been working for Innovations in Learning since April of 2008. She graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a double-major in Psychology and Sociology and a minor in Spanish. She earned her Master’s Degree with Distinction in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University. Leticia’s professional experience also includes working at Porter-Starke’s Interlocal Program located within the SELF School in Valparaiso, Indiana. Leticia is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently.
Shenley Roberts, M.A.
Shenley Roberts is the Director of Behavioral Services. Shenley Roberts has been working for Innovations in Learning since June of 2007. She graduated from Saint Joseph’s College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She completed her undergraduate internship at Christian Haven, a residential facility for teen offenders in Wheatfield, Indiana. In 2004, Shenley began attending graduate school at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She completed her graduate level internship at the Success Center, a non-profit community counseling center in Lansing, IL, and received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology degree in April of 2007. Shenley currently works with a diverse population of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults. Shenley previously worked as the Director of Adult Day Services at Innovations In Learning and recently took on the role of Director of Behavioral Services. She is currently enrolled in courses at Ball State University and plans to obtain her Board Certification in Behavior Analysis this year.
Susan Blahunka is the Director of Administration for Innovations In Learning. Sue began working at Innovations in 2007 and brings with her over twenty years of office experience. In addition to managing the front office, Susan also assists the Clinical Director. Susan is a captain for Innovations’ Walk Now for Autism Speaks event, an annual event that supports funding for scientific research. Each year the number of team members has increased along with the number of donations. Susan plans and executes the team’s strategy for raising donations. Her creative approach creates a positive and fun filled environment for the Innovations team while pursuing their goal. Susan is married with three children and is happy to be part of the Innovations Team.
